THQ to Release Software Patch for UFC 2009: Undisputed
UFC 2009: Undisputed: Software Patch ForthcomingPatch will address disconnections, other bugs
Neven Dravinski, deemed a "UFC Producer" on the THQ website, has made a public post addressing a soon-to-be-released software patch that will address several issues with the UFC's new video game, UFC 2009: Undisputed.
Among the issues being addressed is the wave of cheaters who disconnect the video game to avoid accruing a notch in the "Loss" column when they've been defeated in a ranked match via the popular Xbox Live network.
According to Dravinski, code is being written into the newest upgrade of the game that will work to detect when a player has disconnected their Xbox from the network in an attempt to avoid a loss. According to the post from the producer, the network-distributed online patch will "have integrated code that detects who pulls the cable and will assign a Loss as well as a Did Not Finish to that player."
Dravinski goes onto explain the additional penalty incurred by the disconnecting player, stating that "the DNF is only counted for the player who executes the disconnection. The DNF rate will be displayed on the fighter selection screen of the Online Ranked Match. When disconnected the Winning Streak is also reset to 0."
As well, the Create-A-Fighter glitch that once allowed players to max out the skill statistics of fighters created outside of career mode has been addressed, as these created fighters will no longer be allowed to be used online.
Flash KO frequency will also see a decrease as a result of the software patch. As well, maximum ranked levels have been increased (from 100 to 200), and maximum number of points awarded in online play has also been increased (from 99,999 to 999,999).
More about the software patch can be read on the official UFC Undisputed website.
